When is the next meetup, and what time should I arrive?
Our next skywatch is Thursday, October 15, 2026. We start setup at 7:15 PM and begin guided observing at 7:45 PM. Arriving 10–15 minutes early helps you settle in before orientation.
Where does the group gather?
We meet at the north lawn of Riverbend Community Park near the main observatory pad. Look for the Moonbeam sign at the walkway entrance and the check-in table beside the telescope line.
What should I bring to participate comfortably?
Bring a light jacket, water, and closed-toe shoes. A red-light flashlight is helpful for protecting night vision. Binoculars are welcome but optional, and we always have shared telescope views available.
What happens if weather conditions change?
If clouds or wind affect viewing, we post updates two hours before start time. We either adjust to a shorter session, shift to a nearby indoor briefing room, or reschedule and announce the new date promptly.
Are beginners welcome even without prior astronomy experience?
Absolutely. Each meetup includes a beginner-friendly introduction, constellation pointers, and time to ask questions. If it’s your first visit, tell the greeter at check-in so we can pair you with a volunteer guide.
